Rep. Aagard called the meeting to order at 2:11 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Buttars moved to approve the minutes of the February 1, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hendrickson, Rep. Hutchings and Rep. Tilton absent for the vote.

H.B. 214    Naming State Reptile (Rep. D. Clark)

Rep. D. Clark explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke for the bill:    Laura Graf, 4th Grade Teacher, Diamond Valley Elementary, St. George, Utah, and the following 4th Grade Students:

MOTION:    Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Hendrickson, Rep. Hutchings and Rep. Tilton absent for the vote.

H.B. 352    State Budget Provisions (Rep. M. Dayton)

Rep. Dayton explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Hansen absent for the vote.

H.B. 133    Commercial Transactions of Personal Property (Rep. R. Lockhart)
    
MOTION:    Rep. Buttars moved to delete in title and body H.B. 133 and replace it with 1st Substitute H.B. 133. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Hansen absent for the vote.

Rep. Lockhart explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Clark moved to passed the bill out favorably. The motion passed, with Rep. Hutchings voting in opposition. Rep. Buttars was absent for the vote.

H.B. 75    Unclaimed Property Act Revisions (Rep. F. Hunsaker)

Rep. Hunsaker, assisted by Ed Alter, State Treasurer, explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION: Rep. Wheatley moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 1, Line 12 :    

             12          
{   .    modifies the definition of intangible property to include electronic cards;   }


2.    Page 5, Line 149 through Page 6, Line 154 :    

             149          (14) (a) "Intangible property" includes:
             150          (i) monies, checks, drafts, deposits in a financial institution, interest, dividends, and
             151      income;
             152          (ii) credit balances, customer overpayments, gift certificates over $25,
{   electronic cards,   }

             153      security deposits, refunds, credit memos, unpaid wages, unused airline tickets, and unidentified
             154      remittances;

The motion passed, with Rep. Buttars, Rep. Clark, and Rep. Hutchings absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Buttars, Rep. Clark, and Rep. Hutchings absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Hendrickson moved to adjourn.

Rep. Aagard adjourned the meeting at 4:09 p.m.
