MOTION: Rep. Jones moved to approve the minutes of the January 23, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Buxton and Rep. Mascaro absent for the vote.
H.B. 105 Medicaid Generic Drug Reimbursement Amendments (Rep. M. Walker)
Rep. Walker introduced H.B. 105 and explained it to the committee.

H.B. 221 Ambulance and Paramedic Fee Amendments (Rep. P. Ray)
Rep. Ray introduced H.B. 221 and explained it to the committee.
MOTION: Rep. Ray moved to amend the bill as follows:
1. Page 1, Lines 10 through 12 :
10 This bill amends the Utah Emergency Medical Services System Act to prohibit
11 ambulance and paramedic providers from charging fees for
{
responding to a
call
}
transporting a patient
when
12 there is no transport of the individual.
2. Page 1, Lines 17 through 19 :
17 . prohibits charging fees for
{
responding to a call
}
transporting a
patient
for an ambulance or paramedic
18 services when there is no transport of the individual
{
or other medical services
19 provided to the individual } ; and
3. Page 2, Lines 38 through 41 :
39 (3) (a) The department shall prohibit ground ambulance providers and paramedic

The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.
