Rep. Last called the meeting to order at 9:37 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvack moved to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Ray absent for the vote.

H.B. 433    Continuing Parental Rights in Disabled Children (Rep. L. Christensen)

MOTION:    Rep. Menlove moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Line 10 :    

             10          This bill directs the
{   Child Welfare Legislative Oversight Panel   }        Health and Human Services Interim Committee       to conduct a study


2.    Page 1, Line 16 :    

             16          .    directs the

Rep. Christensen explained the amendment. After committee discussion, Rep. Menlove withdrew the motion to amend the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Mascaro moved to amend the bill as follows:

    Page 2, Line 37:    After "Child Welfare Legislative Oversight Panel" delete "shall" and insert "may"

The motion to amend the bill failed with Rep. Mascaro and Rep. Litvack voting in favor of the motion. Rep. Menlove, Rep. Ray, and Rep. Last voted in opposition to the motion.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to pass H.B. 433 out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Mascaro voting in opposition to the motion.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Last adjourned the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
