MOTION: Rep. Buxton moved to approve the minutes of the February 17, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Mascaro absent for the vote.
H.B. 407 Counseling for Families of Veterans (Rep. T. Cosgrove)
Rep. Cosgrove introduced H.B. 407 and explained it to the committee. He was assisted by Mark Hollingshead, Division of Child and Family Services, and Larry Daniel, Vets and Military Family Caucus.

MOTION: Rep. Mascaro moved to amend the bill as follows:
1. Page 1, Line 13 :
13 . directs the Department of Health
and/or the Department of Human
Services
to develop and implement a statewide counseling
2. Page 2, Lines 36 through 39 :
36 (1) There is created within
either
the Department of Health
or the
Department of Human Services
, a counseling
and training
program for the

families of servicemembers on active duty.37
38 (2) The Department of Health
and/or the Department of Human
Services
shall develop and implement a statewide counseling
39 program for the servicemember and the servicemember's immediate family.
3. Page 2, Lines 46 through 47 :

shall seek input from the Utah National Guard regarding
