Rep. Bowman called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

H.B. 56    Sex Offender Registration Amendments (Rep. M. S. Lawrence)

Rep. Lawrence introduced the bill assisted by Dan Mulvanato, Director, Juvenile Justice System.

MOTION:    Rep. Jones moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christensen and Rep. Urquhart absent for the vote.

H.B. 60    Controlled Substance Amendments (Rep. C. Oda)

Rep. Oda presented the bill with the assistance of Kris Leonard, Attorney General's Office.

MOTION:    Rep. Christensen moved to amend the bill as follows:




1.    Page 8, Lines 219 through 222 :    

             219          (x) "Indian tribe" means any tribe, band, nation, pueblo, or other organized group or
             220      community of Indians, including any Alaska Native village, which is
  legally       recognized as eligible for        and is consistent with      

             221      the special programs
  ,            {   and   } services        , and entitlements       provided by the United States to Indians because of their

             222      status as Indians.

The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 70    Statute of Limitations on Bodily Injury (Rep. C. Oda)

Rep. Oda presented the bill with the assistance of Reed Richards, Weber County Attorney

MOTION:    Rep. Kiser moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Litvack and Rep. Jones absent for the vote.

H.B. 10    Domestic Violence and Dating Violence Amendments
(Rep. D. Litvack)

This bill was not considered.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Rep. Bowman adjourned the meeting at 9:30 a.m.
