Committee Chair Hellewell called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.
MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to approve the minutes of the February 7, 2006 meeting.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.
1. S.B. 0249 County Government Amendments (D. Peterson)
Sen. Peterson explained the bill.
Michael Jensen, Council Member, Salt Lake County, spoke in support of the bill.
The following persons spoke in opposition to the bill:

Thomas Lowe, Wasatch County Attorney
Mel Wilson, Davis County Attorney
MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably with the recommendation that the sponsor work on the wording of the bill.
The motion passed with Sen. Christensen voting in opposition to the bill.
2. S.B. 0267 Changes to Local Government Provisions (L.A. Mansell)
The bill was not heard.
3. H.C.R. 005 Resolution Urging Congress to Resolve Camp Williams Boundary Issues (D. Hogue)
Rep. Hogue explained the bill.
Col. Scott Olson, Utah National Guard, provided explanation on the boundary changes.
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Clark explained the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably.
