Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.

    
    
MOTION: Sen. Madsen moved to approve the minutes of February 14, 2006. The motion passed unanimously.

1. H.B. 131 Economic Development Incentives (B. Dee)

    Rep. Dee presented the bill.

    Mike Nelson, Governor's Office of Economic Development, distributed a handout and spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Madsen moved to pass H.B. 131 out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Madsen moved to place H.B. 131 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.


2. H.B.251 Development Grants for Libraries
(M. Noel)

    Rep. Noel presented the bill.

    Douglas Abrams, Library Development Director, State Library Board, spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to pass H.B. 251 out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed with Sen. Madsen voting in opposition to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to adjourn the meeting.

    Chair Walker adjourned the meeting at 9:20 a.m.
