LONG TITLE

General Description:

This bill supplements or reduces appropriations previously provided for the use and
11
operation of state government for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007.

Highlighted Provisions:

This bill:

. provides budget increases and decreases for the use and support of certain state agencies;
15
. revises transportation related items of appropriation vetoed by the Governor for technical
16
reasons following the 2006 General Session.

Monies Appropriated in this Bill:

This bill appropriates for fiscal year 2007:

. $291,000,000 from the General Fund;

. $205,706,600 from various sources as detailed in this bill.

Other Special Clauses:

If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect July

1, 2006.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

Section 1. Under the terms and conditions of Section 63-38-3, the following sums of money
29
are appropriated from resources not otherwise appropriated, or reduced from amounts previously
30
appropriated, out of the funds or fund accounts indicated for the use and support of the government
31 of the State of Utah for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007. This is an
32 addition to or a subtraction from amounts previously appropriated for fiscal year 2007.

44 It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of
45 Transportation use part of this appropriation for corridor
46 preservation and use a portion of those monies for a match
47 program with local governments and private entities.
48 There is appropriated to the Department of Transportation
49 from the Transportation Fund, not otherwise appropriated, a
50 sum sufficient, but not more than the surplus of the
51 Transportation Fund, to be used by the Department for the
52 construction, rehabilitation, and preservation of State highways
53 in Utah.
54 It is the intent of the Legislature that the appropriation fund
55 first, a maximum participation with the federal government for
56 the construction of federally designated highways, as provided
57 by law, and last, the construction of State highways, as funding
58 permits.
59 It is also the intent of the Legislature that the FTEs for field
60 crews may be adjusted to accommodate the increase or
61 decrease in the Federal Construction Program. No portion of
62 the money appropriated by this item shall be used either
63 directly or indirectly to enhance or increase the appropriations
64 otherwise made by this act to the Department of Transportation
65 for other purposes.
