             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill requires the attorney general to maintain an Internet website to assist victims
             10      of identity-related crimes.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    requires the attorney general to maintain an Internet website to assist victims of
             14      identity-related crimes;
             15          .    requires that the Internet website allow a victim of an identity-related crime to
             16      report the crime and have the report routed to the appropriate law enforcement
             17      agency; and
             18          .    allows the attorney general to expand the website to include additional services.
             19      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             20          This bill appropriates:
             21          .    $400,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08 only, to the attorney
             22      general.

             27          67-5-22, Utah Code Annotated 1953

             29      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:


             30          Section 1. Section 67-5-22 is enacted to read:
             31          67-5-22. Identity theft reporting information system.
             32          (1) The attorney general shall maintain an Internet website available to victims of
             33      identity-related crimes.
             34          (2) The Internet website created under Subsection (1) shall allow a victim of an
             35      identity-related crime to report the crime on the website and have the victim's report routed to
             36      the appropriate law enforcement agency for the jurisdiction in which the crime occurred.
             37          (3) The attorney general may expand the Internet website maintained under Subsection
             38      (1) to provide other identity-related services to victims.
             39          Section 2. Appropriation.
             40          There is appropriated $400,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08 only, to
             41      the attorney general to provide and enhance the Internet website required to be provided by
             42      Section 67-5-22 .
