Rep. Mathis called the meeting to order at 8:17 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Bowman moved to approve the minutes of the February 15, 2007 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Donnelson, Rep. Fowlke, Rep. Grover, Rep. Hutchings and Rep. Oda absent for the vote.

1st Sub. H.B. 392    Western States Presidential Preference Poll (Rep. D. Aagard)

Rep. Aagard explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hutchings absent for the vote.

S.B. 31    Sunset Review and Reauthorizations (Sen. C. Bramble)

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Fowlke moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hutchings absent for the vote.



MOTION:    Rep. Grover moved to place the bill on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hutchings absent for the vote.

H.B. 2    Executive Compensation Revisions (Rep. D. Clark)

Rep. Clark explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Aagard moved to pass the bill out favorably.

SUBSTITUTE
MOTION:    Rep. Hansen moved to amend the bill as follows:

    1. Page 2, Line 36: Delete "$86,000" and insert "95% of the governor's salary beginning July 1, 2007"

    
2. Page 2, Line 37:
     Delete "$83,000" and insert "95% of the governor's salary beginning July 1, 2007"

The motion failed with Rep. Hansen and Rep. Wiley voting in the affirmative.

The original motion to pass the bill out favorably passed with Rep. Hansen and Rep. Wiley voting in opposition.

H.J.R. 12    Resolution Reaffirming the Words, Under God, in the Pledge of Allegiance (Rep. K. Gibson)
