Rep. Bowman called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m.

Minutes of February 12, 2007, were not considered.

H.B. 162    Illegal Drug Sites Contamination Amendments (Rep. D. Litvack)

Rep. Litvack introduced the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvack moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 1, Lines 15 through 17 :    

             15          .    provides that if a report of contamination is made to a local health department by
             16      any party other than a law enforcement agency, the party must provide confirmation
             17      of the contamination by a certified decontamination specialist
  and must cover the costs of the contamination testing and report       ; and


2.    Page 2, Lines 53 through 56 :    

             53          (3) When the local health department receives a complaint or report of

contamination
             54      from a source other than a law enforcement agency, the local health department shall require
             55      that the complaint or report be confirmed by a written chemical analysis of the site conducted
             56      by a certified decontamination specialist.

  The chemical analysis and report shall be paid for by the person submitting the complaint or report under this Subsection (3).      


The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dee and Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

Spoke to the bill:    Ms. Margene Searcy, Salt Lake City Police Department

MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Oda moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Rep. Bowman adjourned the meeting at 8:38 a.m.
