MOTION: Rep. Hansen moved to approve the minutes of the January 22, 2007 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Newbold and Rep. Shurtliff absent for the vote..
1. H.B. 294 Benefits and Insurance of Constitutional Officers (Rep. M. Noel)
Rep. Noel explained the bill to the committee.
Mark Shurtliff, Attorney General, spoke for the bill.
MOTION: Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Clark and Rep. Dougall voting against the motion and Rep. Newbold and Rep. Shurtliff absent for the vote..
2. H.B. 198 Public Safety Retirement (Rep. R. Bigelow)
Rep. Bigelow explained the bill to the committee.
Kelly Atkinson, Fraternal Order of Police-State Lodge, and Val Shute, Ogden City Police spoke for the bill.
MOTION: Rep. Morgan moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Tilton and Rep. Dougall voting against the motion.
3. H.B. 12 Additional State Retirement Benefit (Rep. L. Shurtliff)
Rep. Shurtliff explained the bill to the committee with the assistance of Ruby Hammel, Utah School Employees Association.
