Rep. Daw called the meeting to order at 2:08 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Morgan moved to approve the minutes of the January 17, 2007 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Fisher, Rep. Holdaway, and Rep. King absent for the vote.

H.B. 108    Transportation Study - East-west Corridor in a County of the First Class (Rep. R. Bigelow)

Rep. Bigelow introduced the bill, with the assistance of Carlos Braceras, Deputy Director, Utah Department of Transportation.

Spoke for the bill:    Sam Klemm, Wasatch Front Regional Council
            Randy Park, Region 2 Director, Utah Department of Transportation

MOTION:    Rep. Holdaway moved to pass the bill out favorably.


SUBSTITUTE
MOTION:    Rep. Menlove moved to amend the bill as follows:

Page 2 Line 31 After (1), Add "As a first step in a transportation study prioritization                      process,"

Rep. Menlove withdrew the motion.

The original motion to pass the bill out favorably passed unanimously.

Rep. Daw relinquished the chair to Rep. Kiser

H.B. 52    Driver License Fee Amendments (Rep. B. Daw)

MOTION:    Rep. Neuenschwander moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed, with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Hemingway, and Rep. Morgan voting in opposition.

Rep. Daw resumed the chair.

H.B. 82    Driving by Minors Amendments (Rep. C. Frank)

MOTION:    Having voted on the prevailing side, Rep. Holdaway moved to reconsider the previous action taken on H.B. 52. The motion passed, with Rep. Daw, Rep. Herrod, Rep. Kiser, and Rep. Neuenschwander voting in opposition.



Rep. Daw relinquished the chair to Rep. Kiser.

MOTION:    Rep. Ferry moved to hold H.B. 52 until the first Transportation Standing Committee Meeting during the week of January 29, 2007.

SUBSTITUTE
MOTION:    Rep. Holdaway moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
