Rep. Mascaro called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Daw moved to approved the minutes of the January 23, 2007 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Julie Fisher, Rep. Herrod, Rep. King, and Rep. Morgan absent for the vote.

H.B. 125    Centers of Excellence Amendments (Rep. B. Daw)

Rep. Daw introduced the bill to the committee with the assistance of Nicole Toomey Davis, Director, Centers of Excellence. (power point presentation)

Spoke for the bill:    Robert Carter, CEO, Flying Sensors

            Peggy Wallace, former legislator, Utah House of Representatives

MOTION:    Rep. Morgan moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Janice Fisher moved that H.B. 125 be placed on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously.




S.B. 21    Workforce Services' Work Experience or Training Programs (Sen. P. Knudson)

Rep. Menlove introduced the bill to the committee with the assistance of Mike Richardson, Director, Department of Workforce Services.

MOTION:    Rep. Daw moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Janice Fisher moved that H.B. 21 be placed on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Morgan moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
