The meeting was called to order at 2:10 p.m. by Sen. Jenkins.
MOTION: Sen. Buttars moved to approve the minutes of the January 19, 2007 meeting.
The motion passed with Chair Knudson and Sen. Hickman absent at the time of voting.
1. S.B. 128 State Government Law Revisions - Withdrawal from Education Compact
(M. Dayton)
Sen. Dayton introduced State Supt. Patti Harrington.
Supt. Harrington explained that the bill is a duplication of services available to the State Office of Education from other sources.
Chair Knudson assumed the Chair.
MOTION: Sen. Buttars moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. S.B. 130 Municipal Code Amendments (D. Eastman)
The bill was not considered.
3. S.B. 135 Public Employees Disability Benefits Limitations (L. Hillyard)
Sen. Hillyard explained the bill.
Tani Downing, Executive Director, Workforce Services, gave further clarification to the bill and spoke in support of the legislation.
MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
4. S.R. 2 Resolution Affirming Fundamental Rights of Muslim Community of Utah

Sen. Jenkins assumed the Chair.

The motion passed with Sen. Romero voting in opposition to the bill.
