Chair Niederhauser called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.     

1.    S.J.R. 2 Resolution Regarding Permanent State Trust Fund (L. Hillyard)     
    Sen. Hillyard explained the resolution.

    Keith Prescott, Chair, Utah Tax Review Commission, assisted in explaining the resolution     and spoke in favor of the resolution.

    Those speaking in favor of the resolution and S.B. 18:

    Mike German, Vice President, Utah Taxpayer Association
    Lee Peacock, President, Utah Petroleum Association
    Morris Jackson, Manager, Questar
    Mark Buchi, Utah Tax Review Commission

     MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to transmit S.J.R 2 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Pres. Valentine absent for the vote.



2.    S.B. 18 Use of Oil and Gas Revenues (L. Hillyard)

    
Sen. Hillyard explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to transmit S.B. 18 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Pres. Valentine absent for the vote.

3.     S.B. 96 Sales and Use Tax Exemption for Disposable Home Medical Equipment or     Supplies (S. Killpack)

    
Sen. Killpack explained the bill.

    Rob Marrelli, Executive Director, Utah State Tax Commission, spoke to the bill.     
    Jim Olsen, President, Utah Retail Merchants Association, spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to transmit the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Pres. Valentine absent for the vote.

4.    S.B. 22 Sales and Use Tax Exemptions for Certain Governmental Entities and Entities     Within the State Systems of Public and Higher Education (H. Stephenson)

    Sen. Stephenson explained the bill.

    Rob Marrelli, Executive Director, Utah State Tax Commission, spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to transmit the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

5.    S.B. 37 Sales and Use Tax - Dental Prostheses (P. Knudson)

    
This bill was not considered.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to adjourn the meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously.     
    The meeting adjourned at 8:55 a.m.
