Chair Niederhauser called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.
    
Approval of Minutes

    MOTION:
Sen. Greiner moved to approve the minutes of February 7, 2007.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Dmitrich absent for the vote.

1.    S.B. 203 Disclosure of Property Tax Information (H. Stephenson)     
     MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to delete in title and body S.B. 203 and replace it with     1st Sub. S.B. 203.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Dmitrich absent for the vote.

    Sen. Stephenson explained the bill.

    Mark Buchi, an attorney with the law firm of Holme, Roberts, and Owens and representing     Kennecott, assisted in the explanation of the bill.

    Lee Gardner, Salt Lake County Assessor, responded to questions.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 203 out of Committee with a favorable     recommendation.



    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Waddoups assumed the Chair.

2.    S.B. 260 Property Tax - Definition of Goodwill (W. Niederhauser)

    Sen. Niederhauser explained the bill.

    Marc Johnson, Commissioner, Utah State Tax Commission, assisted in the explanation of the     bill.

    Mark Buchi, an attorney with the law firm of Holme, Roberts, and Owens and representing T-     Mobile, spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Niederhauser moved to pass S.B. 260 out of Committee with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Niederhauser moved to place S.B. 260 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Chair Niederhauser assumed the Chair.

3.    H.B. 98 County Option Sales and Use Tax for Highways, Fixed Guideways, or Systems     of Public Transit Amendments (C. Frank)

    Rep. Frank explained the bill and distributed a handout.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to pass H.B. 98 out of Committee with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to place 1st Sub. S.B. 203 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to adjourn.

    The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
