Committee Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 2:17 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
Sen. VanTassell moved to approve the minutes of the January 23, 2007 meeting.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.
1. S.B. 158 B and C Roads Amendments (D. Stowell)
Sen. Stowell explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.
Brian Bremner, Engineer, Garfield County clarified the bill.
Lincoln Shurtz, Utah League of Cities and Towns, spoke in opposition to the bill.
MOTION: VanTassell moved to return to the bill once amendments are prepared.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Killpack absent for the vote.
The following amendments were distributed:
1. Page 1, Lines 13-16: Delete lines 13-16
2. Page 1, Line 27: Delete line 27
3. Pages 2-4, Lines 31-106 Delete lines 31-106
Renumber remaining sections accordingly
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adopt the amendments.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Killpack absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Killpack absent for the vote.
2. S.B. 156 Public Service Commission - Equipment Distribution Program (B. Goodfellow)
Sen. Goodfellow explained the bill.
Ted Boyer, Commissioner, Public Service Commission, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved that the bill be placed on the Consent Calendar.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Killpack absent for the vote.
3. S.B. 12 Funding for Purchase of State Highway Rights of Way (H. Stephenson)
Sen. Stephenson explained the bill and 1st Sub. S.B. 12 was distributed.
MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to adopt 1st Sub. S.B.12.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass out 1st Sub. S.B. 12 favorably.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Killpack absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. VanTassell moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously at 3:05 with Sen. Killpack absent for the vote.
