             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill modifies the State Officers and Employees title by amending powers of the
             11      lieutenant governor.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    allows the lieutenant governor and designated employees to administer oaths.
             15      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             16          None
             17      Other Special Clauses:
             18          This bill provides an immediate effective date.
             19      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             20      ENACTS:
             21          67-1a-12, Utah Code Annotated 1953

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 67-1a-12 is enacted to read:
             25          67-1a-12. Authority to administer oaths.
             26          The lieutenant governor and personnel employed under Section 67-1a-3 , who are
             27      designated by the lieutenant governor, may administer oaths when necessary in the performance
             28      of official duties.
             29          Section 2. Effective date.


             30          If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
             31      upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
             32      Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
             33      the date of veto override.
