             12      General Description:
             13          This bill requires the Governor's Office of Economic Development to maintain a
             14      database of businesses that export a product or service internationally.
             15      Highlighted Provisions:
             16          This bill:
             17          .    requires the Governor's Office of Economic Development to maintain a database, in
             18      cooperation with the Automated Geographic Reference Center, of businesses that
             19      export a product or service internationally; and
             20          .    makes technical changes.

             29      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             30          Section 1. Section 63-38f-403 is amended to read:
             31           63-38f-403. Powers of the office.
             32          The office shall:
             33          (1) monitor the implementation and operation of this part and conduct a continuing
             34      evaluation of the progress made in the enterprise zones;
             35          (2) evaluate an application from a county applicant or a municipal applicant to be
             36      designated an enterprise zone and determine if the applicant qualifies for that designation;
             37          (3) provide technical assistance to county applicants and municipal applicants in
             38      developing applications for designation as enterprise zones;
             39          (4) assist county applicants and municipal applicants designated as enterprise zones in
             40      obtaining assistance from the federal government and agencies of the state;
             41          (5) assist a qualified business in obtaining the benefits of an incentive or inducement
             42      program authorized by this part; [and]
             43          (6) prepare an annual evaluation based, in part, on data provided by the State Tax
             44      Commission:
             45          (a) evaluating the effectiveness of the program and any suggestions for legislation; and
             46          (b) that is available upon request to the governor and to the Revenue and Taxation
             47      Interim Committee of the Legislature by November 1 of each year[.]; and
             48          (7) maintain a database in cooperation with the Automated Geographic Reference
             49      Center to be included in the State Geographic Information Database identifying by address
             50      each business located in Utah of which the office is aware that exports a product or service to
             51      another country unless the business objects to inclusion in the database.
