Chair S. Clark called the meeting to order at 4:14 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. S. Clark moved to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2008 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Walker and Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.

S.B. 88    Uniform Model Registered Agent Act (Sen. L. Hillyard)

Sen. Hillyard introduced the bill to the committee with assistance of Garth Jacobsen, CT Corporation, Seattle Washington. (handout)

MOTION:    Rep. Ferry moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Walker and Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.

1st Sub S.B. 79    Small Business Access Amendments (Sen. R. Romero)

Sen. Romero introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Neuenschwander moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Walker and Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.


1st Sub S.B. 57    Franchise Law Amendments (Sen. D. Eastman)

Sen. Eastman introduced the bill to the committee with the assistance of Craig Bickmore, Utah Auto Dealers Association.

MOTION:    Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. S. Clark moved to place 1st Sub S.B. 57 on the Consent Calendar with the approval of the sponsor. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.

S.B. 174    Dentist and Dental Hygienist Practice Act Amendments (Sen. P. Knudson)

Sen. Knudson introduced the bill to the committee with the assistance of Daniel Jones, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

MOTION:    Rep. Ferry moved to amend the bill as follows:
