Rep. Menlove called the meeting to order at 2:12 p.m.
MOTION: Rep. Ray moved to delete in title and body 1st Substitute H.B. 276 and replace it with 2nd Substitute H.B. 276. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dougall, Rep. Harper, Rep. Litvack and Rep. Sandstrom absent for the vote.
Spoke in favor of the bill: Deb Hobbins, Utah Nurses Association Deborah Turner, Department of Health
MOTION: Rep. Ray moved to amend the bill as follows;
1. Page 3, Lines 62 through 69:
62 (13) "Nurse practitioner" means an advanced practice registered nurse specializing as
a
63 nurse practitioner:
64 (a) who has completed an education program regarding the completion of a certificate
65 of death developed by the department by administrative rule adopted in accordance with Title
66 63, Chapter 46a, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act;
67 (b) who is in independent practice {
68 (c) who is not employed by a health care facility licensed under Chapter 21, Health
69 Facility Licensing and Inspection Act.
The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Dougall, Rep. Harper, Rep. Litvack, and Rep. Sandstrom absent for the vote.
MOTION: Rep. Greenwood moved to pass 2nd Substitute H.B. 276 as amended out favorably.
