Rep. Bowman called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to approve the minutes of January 25, 2008. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart, Rep. Wimmer, and Rep. Oda absent for the vote.

H.B. 262    Recovery of Federal Reimbursement for Costs Associated with Illegal Immigrants (Rep. K. Morgan)

Rep. Morgan presented the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to amend the bill as follows:

MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended. The motion passed with Rep. Litvack and Rep. Seelig voting in opposition.

H.B. 19    Assault on a Peace Officer Penalty Amendments (Rep. P. Ray)

Rep. Ray presented the bill.

H.B. 109    Sex Offender Law Amendments
(Rep. G. Hughes)

MOTION:    Rep. Litvack moved to replace H. B. 109 with 1st Substitute H.B. 109. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Hughes presented the bill with the assistance of Mr. Mark Gaskill, President, Systemic Parenting, University of Utah.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to adjourn. The motion passed with Rep. Wimmer voting in opposition. Rep. Bowman adjourned the meeting at 3:34 p.m.
