Rep. Barrus called the meeting to order at 8:08 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Painter moved to approve the minutes of the February 20, 2008 and the February 22, 2008 meetings. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hendrickson absent for the vote.


H.B. 222    Water Quality Board Amendments (Rep. P. Painter) (handout)

MOTION:    Rep. Painter moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Line 19 :    

             19          
{   None   }        This bill coordinates with S.B. 111, Revisor's Statute, by providing that certain technical amendments in this bill supersede certain technical amendments in S.B. 111.      


2.    Page 3, Line 89 through Page 4, Line 90 :    
    (1) The board
{   [   } has the following powers and duties[      {   ]   } , but the board shall give priority to

             90      pollution that results in hazards to the public health]
{   may   } :


3.    Page 7, Line 204 :    

             204      employment history and references as required by the board.
 

    Section 3. Coordinating H.B. 222 with S.B. 111 --Superseding technical amendments.
        If this H.B. 222 and S.B. 111, Revisor's Statute, both pass, it is the intent of the Legislature that the amendments to Section 19-5-103 in this bill supersede the amendments to Section 19-5-103 in S.B. 111, when the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel prepares the Utah Code database for publication.  


    The motion passed with Rep. Hendrickson absent for the vote.

H.B. 385    Road and Rights-of-way Amendments (Rep. M. Noel)

MOTION:    Rep. Noel moved to delete H.B. 385 and replace it with 1st Sub. H.B. 385. The motion passed unanimously

MOTION:    Rep. Mathis moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Andersen and Rep. Barrus voting in opposition. Rep. Hendrickson was absent for the vote.

H.B. 227    Revoking Federal Authority to Use State Lands as a Bird Refuge (Rep. B. Ferry)

Rep. Ferry explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Painter moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hendrickson absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Brown moved to adjourn.
