Committee Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at the designated time of 2:13 am as posted.

1.     H.B. 321-Higher Education Savings Incentive Program Amendments    

    
Sen. Bell explained H.B. 321 to the Committee. Lynn Ward Assisted in presenting the     bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Bell moved to pass H.B.321 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Bramble and Hillyard absent for the vote.


    
     MOTION:    Sen. Peterson made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 11,     2008 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Bell, Bramble and Hillyard absent for the vote.

2.     S.B. 219-Use of Severence Tax Revenues When a School District Division Occurs

    Sen. Waddoups explained S.B. 219.    

    Chip Dawson, J. Lynn Crane, Supt. Barry Newbold , Ronda Rose and Dix McMullin     spoke in favor of the bill.

    David Litvan, Lee Peacock, Royce VanTassell and Ruland Gill spoke in opposition to     the bill.
    
     MOTION:

    
Sen. Peterson moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion was passed unanimously with     Sens. Bell, Bramble and Hillyard absent for the vote.
