Committee Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at the designated time of 8:04 am as posted.
1. H.B. 254S01-School Community Council Amendments
Rep. Ronda Menlove presented 1st. Sub. H.B. 254 to the committee.
Keith Davis and Tamara Lowe spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to pass 1st. Sub. H.B.254 out of committee with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Bell and
Stephenson absent for the vote.
H.B. 127 on the consent calendar. This motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: With the request of the bill sponsor, Sen. Jones moved to place 1st. Sub. 254
on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Bell and
Stephsenson absent for the vote.
2. H.B. 332-Use of Public Schools by Community Organization
Rep. Gregory Hughes presented 1st. Sub. H.B. 332 to the committee.
MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to adopt 1st. Sub 332. The motion passed
unanimously with Sens. Bell and Stephenson absent for the vote.
Larry Shumway addressed the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Hillyard made a motion to adopt the following amendment:

The motion passed with Sens. Dayton, Bell, Hillyard, Jones and Romero voting aye.
Sens. Peterson and Stephenson voted against the motion.
MOTION: Sen. Hillyard moved to pass 1st. Sub. 332 out of committee with a favorable
recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.
3. H.B. 127S02-Community Council Elections
Rep. Kenneth Sumsion presented 2nd. Sub. H.B.127 to the committee.
Natalie Gordon and Stan Harbuck spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to pass 2nd. Sub. H.B 127 out of committee with a
favorable recommendation. This motion passed unanimously .
MOTION: With the request of the bill sponsor, Sen. Jones moved to place 2nd. Sub.
4. H.B. 189S01-School Community Councils
Rep. Ron Bigelow presented 1st. Sub. H.B. 189 to the committee.
Natalie Gordon, Tamara Lowe and Stan Harbuck spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Peterson made a motion to pass 1st. Sub H.B. 189 out of committee
with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: With the request of the bill sponsor, Sen. Jones moved to place 1st. Sub. H.B.
189 on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed
unanimously.
