Committee Chair Buttars called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.

1.    S.B. 56 Naturopathic Physician Amendments (S. McCoy)

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to delete in title and body S.B. 56 and replace it
    with 1st Substitute S.B. 56.

    The motion passed with Sens. Christensen and Knudson absent for the vote.

    Sen. McCoy explained the bill.

    Dr. Benton Bramwell, Utah Naturopathic Physician Association, provided additional information and spoke in support of the bill.     

    F. David Stanley, Director, Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing, spoke in support of the bill.
    
     MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to pass the bill out favorably.


    The motion passed with Sen. Christensen absent for the vote.

2.    S.B. 62 Health Insurance - Medical Complication Exclusions (P. Knudson)

    
Sen. Knudson explained the bill.

    Kelly Atkinson, Utah Health Insurance Association, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.    S.B. 66 Uniform Emergency Volunteer Health Practitioners Act (L. Hillyard)

    Sen. Hillyard explained the bill.

    Mike Weibel, Coordinator, Utah MRC Programs, and Charles Thronson, attorney,
    Utah Association for Justice, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McCoy absent for the vote.

4.    S.B. 146 Amendment to Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (L. Hillyard)

    
Sen. Hillyard explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McCoy absent for the vote.

5.    H.B. 16 Medicaid Coverage for Certain Telehealth Services (B. Last)

    
Rep. Last explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McCoy absent for the vote.


Sen. Buttars adjourned the meeting at 8:57 a.m.
