Sen. Christensen called the meeting to order at 3:20 p.m.
1. S.B. 133 Medical Assistance and Managed Care (G. Bell)
Sen. Bell explained the bill.
Lincoln Nehring, Utah Health Policy Project, provided additional information about the bill.
Dr. Chuck Norlin, Past President, Intermountain Pediatric Society, spoke in support of the bill.
Sen. Bell recommended that the bill be sent to interim study.
MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to recommend that S.B. 133 be sent to interim study.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.
2. S.B. 211 Alcoholic Beverage Control Amendments (C. Bramble)
MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to delete in title and body S.B. 211 and replace it with
1st Substitute S.B. 211.
The motion passed with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.
Sen. Bramble explained the substitute bill.
Attorney General Mark Shurtleff spoke in support of the bill and gave a presentation titled "Truth in Alcohol." He stated that the presentation is aimed at educating the public on the danger of Alcopops.

Sen. Christensen explained the bill.

Rep. Newbold explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed with Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to recommend that 1st Substitute H.B. 281 be placed on the consent calendar.
The motion passed with Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.
5. H.B. 276S2 Health Professional Authority - Death and Disability (B. Last)
2nd Substitute H.B. 276 was not considered.
