Chair Bell called the meeting to order at 4:35 pm.
    
Approval of Minutes

    MOTION:
Sen. Greiner moved to approve the minutes of February 18, February 20, and February 22, 2008.

    The motion passed unanimously.

1.     H.B. 92 S01 Garnishment Amendments (J. Draxler)

    Rep. Draxler presented and explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 92 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.



2.     H.B. 161 Sex Offenders" Contact with Children (R. Greenwood)

    Rep. Greenwood presented and explained the bill.

    Kevin Holman, Sheriff, Sanpete County; Reed Richards, Weber County Attorney's Office; and Liz Zentner, Region 5 PTA Director, Utah PTA; spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Romero moved to send H.B. 161 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.     H.B. 121 County Charges for Services to Incarcerated Persons (R. Greenwood)

    Rep. Greenwood presented and explained the bill.

    Brent Gardner, Executive Director, Utah Association of Counties spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to pass H.B. 121 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

4.     H.B. 375 Deception Detection Examiners Licensing Act Amendments (R. Barrus)

    Rep. Barrus presented and explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to pass H.B. 375 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to place H.B. 375 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

5.     H.B. 371 Digital Certificates for Breathalizers (C. Herrod)

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to replace H.B. 371 with 1st Substitute H.B. 371.


    The motion passed unanimously.

    Rep. Herrod presented and explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 371 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to place 1st Substitute H.B. 371 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Sen. Greiner moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.
