Committee Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 4:12 p.m.

1.    Approval of Minutes

     MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to approve the minutes of February 22, 2008. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen, Sen. Dayton and Sen. Stowell absent for the vote.

2.    S.B. 243 This Is the Place Foundation - Procurement Code Exemption (Sen. B. Goodfellow)

    Sen. Brent Goodfellow introduced the bill. Mark Forbes, Deputy Director, State Parks and      Recreation, assisted in the presentation.

     MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to pass S.B. 243, This Is the Place Foundation - Procurement Code Exemption, out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen and Sen. Stowell absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to place S.B. 243 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen and Sen. Stowell absent for the vote.

3.    S.B. 244 Division of Parks and Recreation to Support Nonprofit Corporation or Foundation     (Sen. B. Goodfellow)

    Sen. Goodfellow introduced the bill. Mark Forbes, Deputy Director, State Parks and Recreation, assisted in the presentation.

    Mary Tullius, Director, State Parks and Recreation, answered questions from the Committee.

     MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to pass S.B. 244, Division of Parks and Recreation to Support

Nonprofit Corporation or Foundation, out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to place S.B. 244 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.
    
     MOTION: Sen. Waddoups moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously

    Chair Peterson adjourned the meeting at 4:25 p.m.
