Chair Niederhauser called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.
    
Approval of Minutes

    MOTION:
Sen. Greiner moved to approve the minutes of February 8, 2008.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Dmitrich and Goodfellow absent for the vote.

Sen. Greiner assumed the Committee Chair.

1.    S.B. 204 Income Taxation - Real Estate Investment Trusts (W. Niederhauser)

    
Sen. Niederhauser explained the bill and answered questions from the Committee.

    Bruce Johnson, Commissioner, Utah State Tax Commission, further clarified the bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to pass S.B. 204 out of Committee with a favorable     recommendation.
    
    The motion passed unanimously.


    
2.    S.B. 258 Property Tax Committee (W. Niederhauser)
    
    Sen. Niederhauser explained the bill and answered questions from the Committee.

    Ronald Mortensen, Citizens Coalition for Tax Fairness, spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen Niederhauser moved to pass S.B. 258 out of Committee with a favorable
    recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Niederhauser moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously at 9:30 a.m..
