Committee Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.
Approval of Minutes
MOTION: Sen. VanTassell moved to approve the minutes of February 22 , 2008.
The motion passed unanimously.
1. S.B. 286 Transportation and Transit Amendments (S. Killpack)
Sen. Killpack explained the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. H.B. 467 Motor Vehicle Insurance Arbitration Amendments (S. Urquhart)
Rep. Urquhart explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.
Chris Purcell, Attorney, State Farm, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. VanTassell moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
3. H.B. 347 Motor Vehicle Business Regulation Amendments (S. Andersen)
Rep. Andersen explained the bill.
Wayne Jones, Executive Director, Utah Independent Auto Dealers Association; Rod Marrelli, Executive Director, Utah State Tax Commission; and Craig Bickmore, Executive Director, Utah Auto Dealers Association, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Killpack moved to pass the bill out favorably.

4. H.B. 406 Traffic Code Amendments (J. Dunnigan)
Rep. Dunnigan explained the bill.
MOTION: Sen. VanTassell moved to pass the bill out favorably.

5. 1st Sub. H.B. 348 Zion National Park Special Group License Plate (B. Last)
Rep. Urquhart presented the bill.
Rod Marrelli, Executive Director, Utah State Tax Commission, expressed concerns with the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.

6. H.B. 165 Sales and Use Tax Exemptions Relating to Aircraft (B. Dee)
Rep. Dee explained the bill.
