Rep. Painter called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.

H.B. 154    State Construction Registry Amendments (Rep. M. Morley)

Rep. Morley presented the bill to the committee with the assistance of Tom Harper, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

MOTION:    Rep. Dunnigan moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 10, Lines 301 through 306 :    

             301          (4) The standardized building permit numbering system [developed] described under
             302      Subsection (2) shall include
{   alpha or numeric characters in the following order:

             303          (a) three alphabetical characters identifying the compliance agency issuing the permit;
             304      and
             305          (b)  
}
a combination of alpha or numeric characters arranged in a format acceptable to the
             306      compliance agency.



The motion to amend passed unanimously, with Rep. Clark, Rep. Hansen, and Rep. Wallis absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Clark moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed, with Rep. Biskupski, Rep. Duckworth, and Rep. Kiser voting in opposition.

MOTION:    Rep. Dunnigan moved to approve the minutes of the February 4, 2009 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Froerer absent for the vote.

H.B. 280    Insurance Code - Continuing Education (Rep. J. Bird)

Rep. Bird presented the bill to the committee.

Spoke for the bill:    Chris Purcell, State Farm Insurance

MOTION:    Rep. Garn moved to proceed to the next item on the agenda. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

Rep. Painter presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Webb moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

Rep. Wilcox presented the bill to the committee with the assistance of Scott Reed, Office of the Attorney General.

MOTION:    Rep. Gibson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Biskupski moved to place H.B. 295 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

H.B. 130    Asset Preservation Amendments (Rep. G. Hughes)

MOTION:    Rep. Duckworth moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Clark, Rep. Froerer, Rep. Hansen, and Rep Morley absent for the vote.
