Rep. Dunnigan called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Wallis moved to approve the minutes of the February 23, 2009 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Gibson, Rep. King, Rep. Painter, and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

H.B. 145    Workplace Drug Testing Programs (Rep. T. Beck)

MOTION:    Rep. Clark moved to adopt 1st Substitute H.B. 145. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Gibson, Rep. King, Rep. Morley, Rep. Painter, and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

Rep. Beck presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Wallis moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed, with Rep. Kiser and Rep. Morley voting in opposition. Rep. Gibson, Rep. King, Rep. Painter, and Rep. Webb were absent for the vote.



H.B. 308    Workers' Compensation - Motor Carriers (Rep. D. Ipson)

Rep. Ipson presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Wallis moved to adopt 1st Substitute H.B. 308. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Gibson, Rep. King, and Rep. Painter absent for the vote.

H.B. 342    Disproportionate Rental Fee Amendments (Rep. G. Froerer)

Rep. Froerer presented the bill to the committee with the assistance of Lincoln Shurtz, Utah League of Cities and Towns.

MOTION:    Rep. Froerer moved to amend the bill as follows:

Sen. Dayton presented the bill to the committee with the assistance of John Holliday, Office of the Attorney General.

MOTION:    Rep. Morley moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Gibson, Rep. Kiser, and Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.
