Rep. Kiser called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.

S.B. 103    Uniform Laws - Uniform Principal and Income Act Amendments (Sen. L. Hillyard) (Rep. F. Hunsaker)

Sen. Hillyard introduced the bill and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Harper moved to transmit the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Hughes, and Rep. Moss absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Harper moved that S.B. 103 be placed on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Hughes, and Rep. Moss absent for the vote.

H.B. 66    Property Tax Amendments (Rep. M. Newbold)

MOTION:    Rep. Newbold moved to substitute H.B. 66 with 1st Sub. H.B. 66. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Hughes, Rep. Moss, and Rep. Froerer absent for the vote.



Using a handout, Rep. Newbold, accompanied by Angela Oakes, Associate General Counsel, Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, introduced 1st Sub H.B 66 and explained it to the committee. The following individuals spoke to the bill:

MOTION:    Rep. Dougall moved to transmit 1st Sub H.B. 66 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Duckworth, Rep. Johnson, and Rep. Moss voting in opposition.

H.B. 246    Property Tax - Residential Exemption (Rep. G. Froerer)

MOTION:    Rep. Froerer moved to substitute H.B. 246 with 1st Substitute H.B. 246. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Hughes, and Rep. Moss absent for the vote.

Rep. Froerer, accompanied by Angela Oakes, introduced the bill and explained it to the committee. Nancy Lord, Bluffdale City Council, and Jason Fuller, Ogden Valley property owner, spoke in favor of the bill. The bill was held in committee without a vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Johnson moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hughes and Rep. Moss absent for the vote.

Rep. Kiser adjourned the meeting at 9:55 a.m.
