Vice Chair Fisher called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Holdaway moved to approve the minutes of the February 3, 2009 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Janice Fisher, Rep. Harper, and Rep. Mascaro absent for the vote.

H.B. 112    Vehicle Towing Amendments (Rep. T. Kiser)

Rep. Kiser introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:     Rep. Mascaro moved to proceed to the next item on the agenda. The motion         passed, with Rep. Holdaway absent for the vote.

H.B. 261    Aviation Amendments (Rep. W. Harper)

Rep. Harper introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Harper moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Lines 13 through 16 :    

             13          .    reduces the aviation fuel tax rate that a federally certificated air carrier pays on
             14      aviation fuel purchased at an international airport located within a county of the first
             15      class that has a United States customs office on its premises from $.04 to
{   $.026   }        $.025       on

             16      each gallon of aviation fuel;

2.    Page 1, Lines 24 through 25 :    

             24          .    provides that
  until July 1, 2014       the Department of Transportation may        not       use funds in the Aeronautics

             25      Restricted Account to purchase and operate aircraft for statewide aviation purposes;

3.    Page 2, Lines 55 through 57 :    

             55          (b)
{   2.6   }        2.5       cents per gallon on aviation fuel purchased at an international airport:

             56          (i) located within a county of the first class; and
             57          (ii) that has a United States customs office on its premises.

The motion to amend passed unanimously, with Rep. Holdaway absent for the vote.

Vice Chair Fisher adjourned the meeting at 9:57 a.m.
