Chair Valentine called the meeting to order at 8:40 a.m.


1.     SB0103 Uniform Laws - Uniform Principal and Income Act Amendments
    
(L. Hillyard)

    Sen. Hillyard introduced the bill.

    MOTION:
Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote.

2.     SB0015 Workers' Compensation Premium Assessment and Workplace Safety Funding (K. Mayne)

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to substitute SB 15 with 1st Sub. S.B. 15.     .



    The motion passed unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote.

    Dennis Lloyd, Sr. V. P. of the Workers' Compensation Fund, further clarified the bill and     spoke in support.

    Sherrie Hayashi, Commissioner, and Allan Hennebold, Deputy Commissioner of the Utah     Labor Commission, spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Senator Valentine moved that 1st Sub. S.B. 15 be amended as follows:     
8, Lines 238 through 240

             238          (ii) the activities of the Division of Adjudication described in Section 34A-1-202 .
             239          (b) The monies deposited in the account may not
  be       used for a purpose other than a

             240      purpose described in this Subsection (4), including an administrative cost or another
activity of


The motion pass unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote

Jim Olson, President of the Utah Food Industry, spoke in support of the bill.
    
    MOTION:
Senator Davis moved to pass the substitute bill out favorably, as amended.

    The bill passed unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote.

3.    SB0031 Utah Residential Mortgage Practices and Licensing Act (W. Niederhauser)             
     MOTION: Sen. Niederhauser introduced the bill and moved to substitute the original bill
    with 1st Sub S.B. 31.

    The motion passed unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote.

    Mark Steinagel, Director of the Division of Real Estate; David Luna, President of UAMB;
    and Chris Jones, Liaison for UMLA, spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Niederhauser moved to pass the substitute bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote

     MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to adjourn the meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously with a 7 - 0 vote.


    


    Chair Valentine adjourned the meeting at 9:50 a.m.
