    A list of visitors and a copy of handouts are filed with the committee minutes.

    Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 8:16 a.m.

     MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to approve the minutes of the February 19 and 23, 2009 meetings.

    The motion passed unanimously, with Sens. Morgan and Stephenson absent for the vote.

1.          S.B. 240 -- Utah Science Technology and Research Initiative Amendments

        Chair Bramble introduced the bill.

         MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to pass S.B. 240 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

        The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.

2.          1st Sub. H.b. 21 -- Posting of Collective Bargaining Agreements by School Districts and Charter Schools

        Rep. Sumsion introduced and explained the bill.




        Susan Kuziak, Utah Education Association, spoke in favor of the bill.

         MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 21 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

        The motion passed unanimously.

         MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to place 1st Sub. H.B. 21 on the Consent Calendar.

        The motion passed unanimously.

         MOTION: Sen. Morgan moved to adjourn.

        The motion passed unanimously.

    Chair Bramble adjourned the meeting at 8:21 a.m.
