Chair Buttars called the meeting to order at 2:20 p.m.
1. SB32 Wrongful Death Amendments
(S. McCoy)
MOTION: Senator McCoy moved to adopt 1st Substitute SB0032, Wrongful Death Amendments.
The motion passed unanimously with a 6-0 vote in favor of the motion.
Senator McCoy introduced the bill.
Linda Barney, citizen, spoke in favor of the bill.
Frank Mylar, citizen, spoke against the bill.
Jeff Key, citizen, spoke in favor of the bill.
Stan Rasmusson, citizen, spoke against the bill.
Barbara Szweda, Policy Advisor, ACLU, spoke for the bill.
Gayle Ruzika, Marriage Alliance, spoke against the bill.

MOTION: Senator Romero moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion failed with a 2-4 vote with Sens. McCoy and Romero voting in favor of the motion.
MOTION: Senator McCoy moved to adjourn.
The motion failed with a 1-5 vote with Senator McCoy in favor of the motion.
MOTION: Senator Waddoups moved to go on to the next item on the agenda.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. SB0097 Good Samaritan Act for Engineers
(M. Waddoups)
Senator Waddoups introduced the bill.
Clint Topham, Council of Engineers, spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Senator Madsen moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously with a 6-0 vote in favor of the motion.
MOTION: Sen. Romero moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously with a 6-0 vote in favor of the motion.
Senator Buttars adjourned the meeting at 5:00 p.m.
