Committee Chair Stowell called the meeting to order at 3:08 p.m.
1. S.J.R. 1 Joint Resolution - Renewable Energy System (Sen. P. Jones)
Sen. Patricia Jones introduced the bill. Jason Berry, Manager, State Energy Program and Sara Baldwin, Utah Clean Energy, assisted in the presentation.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to replace S.J.R. 1 with 1st Sub. S.J.R. 1, Joint Resolution - Renewable Energy System (Sen. P. Jones).
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Morgan absent for the vote.
Lauren Wood, Shifting Ground of Utah; Roger Tew, Utah League of Cities and Towns; and Jody Hart, Rocky Mountain Power, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Morgan moved to pass 1st Sub. S.J.R. 1, Joint Resolution - Renewable Energy System (Sen. P. Jones) out favorably.
The motion passed with Sen. Dayton and Sen. Okerlund voting in opposition.
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
Chair Stowell adjourned the meeting at 3:39 p.m.
