Committee Chair Stowell called the meeting to order at 4:25 p.m.
1. 1st Sub. H.J.R. 12 Joint Resolution Supporting Hydrogen Power from Advanced Coal and Carbon Capture and Sequestration Technology (Rep. P. Painter) (Sen. D. Hinkins)
Rep. Painter introduced the bill. Alan Walker, Director of Technical Research, USTAR assisted in the presentation.
Benjamin Rivkind, Citizens for Sustainability, spoke in opposition to the bill.
Rep. Noel spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to pass 1st Sub. H.J.R. 12, Joint Resolution Supporting Hydrogen Power from Advanced Coal and Carbon Capture and Sequestration Technology, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. H.B. 205 Water Source Protection Amendments (Rep. M. Noel) (Sen. S. Urquhart)
Rep. Noel introduced the bill. Paul Ashton, White City Water Improvement District, assisted in the presentation.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass H.B. 205, Water Source Protection Amendments, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
3. Approval of Minutes
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to approve the minutes of February 20, 2009 and February 23, 2009.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
