Chair Niederhauser called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.
MOTION: Sen Valentine moved to approve the minutes of 1/30/2009
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Romero absent for the vote.
Committee Chair Niederhauser relinquished the chair to Sen. Valentine.
1. SB0141 Aviation Fuel Tax Amendments
Sen. Niederhauser introduced and explained the bill.
Commissioner Johnson spoke to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to adopt S.B. 141 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Romero absent for the vote.
2. SB0035 Sales and Use Tax Definitions Relating to Property
Sen. Niederhauser introduced and explained the bill.
The following individuals spoke in favor of the bill: Commissioner Johnson and Richard VanKomen.
MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to adopt S.B. 35 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved, at the request of the sponsor, that S.B. 35 be placed on the Consent Calendar.
The motion passed unanimously.
Sen. Valentine relinquished the chair to Chairperson Niederhauser
3. SB0135 Local District Taxing Authority
Sen. Bramble introduced and explained the bill.
Mr. Bitter and Mr. Shurtz spoke to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to adopt S.B. 135 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
4. SB0130 Income Tax Credit - Contributions for Which Federal Matching Monies Are Offered
Senator Scott McCoy introduced and explained the bill.
Commissioner Johnson spoke to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to refer S.B. 130 to interim study.
The motion passed unanimously.
5. SB0132 Individual Income Tax Contribution for Methamphetamine Housing Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Fund
Senator Karen Mayne introduced and explained the bill.
Mr. Blake and Mr. Tagliaferri spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to adopt S.B. 132 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion failed on a tie vote with Sen Romero, Sen. Valentine, Sen. Stowell voing in favor and Sen. Bramble, Sen. Niederhauser, and Sen. Stephenson voting in opposition
MOTION: Sen. Romero moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
Chairperson Niederhauser adjourned the meeting at 3:15 p.m.
