Chair Niederhauser called the meeting to order at 2:20 p.m.

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to approve the minutes of 2/11/2009.

The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Bramble, Sen. Stephenson, and Sen. Stowell absent for the vote.

1.    SB 157 - Property Taxation of Aircraft

    Sen. Mark Madsen presented and explained this bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to amend SB 157 as follows:

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stowell absent for the vote.

    Ms. Page and Mr. Wojcik spoke in favor of this bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to adopt SB 157 as amended with a favorable recommendation.

    Motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stowell absent for the vote.

2.     SB 46 - School Property Tax Equalization Amendments

    Sen. Karen Morgan presented and explained this bill.

    Mr. Withers, Mr. Peterson, and Mr. Leffel spoke in favor of this bill.

    Ms. Johnson and Mr. Van Tassell spoke against this bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to move to the next item on the agenda.

     SUBSTITUTE MOTION: Sen. Romero moved to adopt SB 46 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion failed with a 2 _ 3 vote; Sen. Goodfellow and Sen. Romero voting in favor; Sen. Niederhauser, Sen. Bramble, and Sen. Stephenson voting against; and Sen. Stowell and Valentine absent for the vote.

    SUBSTITUTE MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to table the bill.

    The motion carried with a 4 - 2 vote; Sen. Niederhauser, Sen. Bramble, Sen. Stephenson, and Sen. Stowell voting in favor; Sen. Goodfellow and Sen. Romero voting against; and Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

3,     HB 65 - Reporting of Certain Transactions Exempt from Sales and Use Taxes

    Sen. Julie Fisher presented and explained this bill.



    Mr. Bingham spoke in favor of this bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to adopt HB 65 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

    MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved that HB 65 be placed on the Consent Calendar

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Romero made the motion to adjourn,

Chairperson Niederhauser adjourned the meeting at 3:50 p.m.
