Committee Chair Urquhart called the meeting to order at 8:17 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

    MOTION:
Sen. Goodfellow moved to approve the minutes of February 17, 2009, meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Mayne assumed the chair.

1.    SB0075, Utility Amendments (S. Urquhart)

    Sen. Urquhart introduced the bill.

    Mr. Walje, Mr. Beattie, and Mr. McKay spoke for the bill

     MOTION: Sen. Goodfellow moved to pass S.B. 75, Utility Amendments, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Urquhart moved to place S.B. 75, Utility Amendments, on the consent

calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Urquhart resumed the chair.

2.    SB0076, Energy Amendments (C. Bramble)

    S.B. 76, Energy Amendments, was not considered.


3.    HB0261, Aviation Amendments (W. Harper)

    Rep. Harper introduced the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to amend H.B. 261, Aviation Amendments, as follows:

             24          .    provides that H. until July 1, 2014 .H the Department of Transportation may
             24a      H. not .H use funds in the Aeronautics
             25      Restricted Account to purchase H. [and operate] .H aircraft for

{   statewide aviation   }        certain       purposes;

     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass H.B. 261, Aviation Amendments, as amended, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to place H.B. 261, Aviation Amendments, as amended, on the consent calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.

4.    HB0050, Firefighter Special Group License Plate Amendments (R. Menlove)

    Rep. Menlove introduced the bill.

    Mr. Mellor spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass H.B. 50, Firefighter Special Group License Plate Amendments, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.
    
     MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to place H.B. 50, Firefighter Special Group License Plate Amendments, on the consent calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Goodfellow absent for the vote.

    Sen. Urquhart adjourned the meeting at 8:53 a.m.
