             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill establishes a day commemorating John M. Browning.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    provides that the state commemorate John M. Browning on January 24, 2011; and
             13          .    provides a repeal date.
             14      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             15          None
             16      Other Special Clauses:
             17          None
             18      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             19      AMENDS:
             20          63G-1-401, as renumbered and amended by Laws of Utah 2008, Chapter 382
             21          63I-2-263, as last amended by Laws of Utah 2008, Chapters 148, 250, 316 and
             22      renumbered and amended by Laws of Utah 2008, Chapter 382

             24      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             25          Section 1. Section 63G-1-401 is amended to read:


             26           63G-1-401. Commemorative periods.
             27          (1) The following days shall be commemorated yearly:
             28          (a) Bill of Rights Day, on December 15;
             29          (b) Constitution Day, on September 17;
             30          (c) Yellow Ribbon Day, on the third Monday in May, in honor of men and women who
             31      are serving or have served in the U.S. armed forces around the world in defense of freedom;
             32          (d) POW/MIA Recognition Day, on the third Friday in September; and
             33          (e) Indigenous People Day, the Monday immediately preceding Thanksgiving.
             34          (2) The Department of Veterans' Affairs shall coordinate activities, special programs,
             35      and promotional information to heighten public awareness and involvement relating to
             36      Subsections (1)(c) and (d).
             37          (3) The month of November shall be commemorated yearly as American Indian
             38      Heritage Month.
             39          (4) The first full week of May shall be commemorated yearly as State Water Week to
             40      recognize the importance of water conservation, quality, and supply in the state.
             41          (5) January 24, 2011 shall be commemorated as John M. Browning Day.
             42          Section 2. Section 63I-2-263 is amended to read:
             43           63I-2-263. Repeal dates, Title 63A to Title 63M.
             44          Subsection 63G-1-401 (5) is repealed on May 10, 2011.
