Rep. Aagard called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to approve the minutes of the February 8, 2010 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Ferry, Rep. Litvack, Rep. Oda and Rep. Ray absent for the vote.

H.B. 125    Kidnapping and Sex Offender Registry Amendments (Rep. R. Bigelow)

Rep. Bigelow presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Greenwood moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Lines 14 through 15 :    

             14          
{   .    requires the department to separate kidnapping and sex offenses on the registry by

             15      creating separate portals through which to access information;

2.    Page 13, Lines 375 through 379 :

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Ferry absent for the vote.

H.J.R. 6    Strangulation and Domestic Violence Joint Resolution (Rep. J. Seelig)

Rep. Seelig presented the resolution to the committee with the assistance of Mr. Paul Boyden, Utah Statewide Association of Prosecutors. (handout)

Rep. Mascaro presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to place H.B. 190 on a future agenda. The motion passed, with Rep. Ray voting in opposition. Rep. Litvack was absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Litvack absent for the vote.
