Rep. Barrus called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Hendrickson moved to approve the minutes of the February 10, 2010 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Draxler and Rep. Noel absent for the vote.


S.B. 20    Local District Amendments (Sen. D. Stowell) (Rep. D. Ipson)

Sen. Stowell explained the bill to the committee.

S.B. 97    Farmland Assessment Act Amendments (Sen. D. Hinkins)

Sen. Hinkins explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Mathis moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Wilcox moved to place the bill on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Painter absent for the vote.


H.B. 285    Practice of Veterinary Medicine (Rep. J. Mathis)

Rep. Mathis explained the bill to the committee.

Rep. Mciff explained the bill the committee.

H.B. 102    Agriculture Sustainability Act (Rep. J. Draxler)

Rep. Draxler explained the bill to the committee, assisted by Leonard Blackman, Commissioner, Utah Dept. Agriculture and Food, and Thayne Mickleson, Utah Dept. Agriculture and Food who distributed handouts to the committee.



MOTION:    Rep. Draxler moved to adopt 1st Substitute H.B. 102. The motion passed unanimously.

This bill was not considered.

MOTION:     Rep. Gibson moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
