Rep. Webb opened the meeting at 8:34 a.m.

MOTION: Rep. Black moved to amend the minutes of February 22, 2010 to indicate that she was present for the vote on the amendment to H.B. 189. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan and Rep. Oda absent for the vote.

MOTION: Rep. Poulson moved to approve the minutes of February 22, 2010, as amended. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan and Rep. Oda absent for the vote.

H.B. 419    Alcoholic Beverage Control and Signage At State Stores (Rep. K. Powell)

Note: This bill was amended during the previous meeting.

Rep. Powell introduced and explained the bill to the committee. Questions from the committee were discussed.

Brandon J. Lloyd, private citizen, spoke for the bill.

Dennis Kellen, Executive Director, Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, spoke to the bill.

John Freeman, Deputy Director, Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, spoke to the bill.


MOTION: Rep. Black moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 4, Line 100:    After "signage" insert "installed or replaced"

SUBSTITUTE MOTION:
Rep. Hunsaker moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 4, Lines 100 through 101 :

The motion to amend passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Poulson moved to recommend H.B. 419 favorably, as amended. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 435    Dixie State College - Nonprofit Entities (Rep. D. Ipson)

Rep. Ipson introduced and explained the bill to the committee, assisted by Frank Loy, Vice President, Dixie State College. Questions from the committee were discussed.

MOTION: Rep. Black moved to recommend H.B. 435 favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Draxler moved to place H.B. 435 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Hunsaker moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
