Rep. Herrod called the meeting to order at 8:03

MOTION:    Rep. Fowlke moved to approve the minutes of February 26, 2010 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Noel absent for the vote.


H.R. 8    Resolution Recognizing Energy Innovation in the State of Utah (Rep. E. Hutchings)

Rep. Hutchings explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Hemingway moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Noel absent for the vote.

Rep. Herrod relinquished the chair to Rep. Wilcox


H.B. 121    Emergency Medical Services Act Transport Amendments (Rep. G. Hughes)

MOTION:    Rep. Wright moved to replace 1st Substitute H.B. 121 with 2nd Substitute
        H.B. 121 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Herrod and Rep. Noel absent for the vote.



MOTION:    Rep. Wright moved to amend 2nd substitute H.B. 121 as follows:

1.    Page 12, Line 339 :    

             339      proposal is determined in writing to be the most advantageous to the
{   department   }        geographic service area       , taking into


2.    Page 12, Line 360 :    

             360          (iii) a list of the factors that will be considered by the
{   political subdivision   }        department       in the award

    
        
The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Herrod and
        Rep. Noel absent for the vote.

Spoke in opposition to the bill: Brad Wardle, Chief, Gold Cross Ambulance

Rep. Brown moved to pass 2nd substitute H.B. 121 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed with Rep. Barrus, Rep.Fowlke,
        Rep. Hemmingway voting in opposition, Rep. Hunsaker, and Rep. Herrod absent for the vote.


S.B. 137    Coordination of Removing, Relocating, or Altering Utilities (Sen. D. Liljenquist) (Rep. R. Wilcox)


Rep. Wilcox explained the bill to the committee.
