Rep. Ipson called the meeting to order at 12:16 p.m.
    
1.    H.B. 215    Amendments to Public Employees' Benefit and Insurance Program Act - Risk Pools (Rep. K. Garn)

Rep. Garn explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Harper moved to pass H.B. 215 with a favorable recommendation.

SUBSTITUTE
MOTION:
    Rep. Hansen moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 2, Line 33 :    

             33      full-time equivalent enrollment of less than [12,000]
{   18,000   }        50,000       ; and


    The motion failed with Rep. Hansen voting in favor of the substitute motion.

The original motion to pass H.B. 215 with a favorable recommendation passed unanimously.

Rep. Ipson relinquished the chair to Rep. Sandstrom.


2.    H.B. 233    Retirement Office Amendments (Rep. D. Ipson)

Rep. Ipson explained the bill to the committee with the assistance of Dan Anderson, Utah Retirement Association.

MOTION:    Rep. Ipson moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Line 16 :    

             16          .    provides that any

MOTION:    Rep. Last moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

3.    H.B. 83    Public Employees' Retirement - Spousal Election (Rep. C. B. Wallis)

Rep. Wallis explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Harper moved to replace H.B. 83 with 1st Substitute H.B. 83. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Last moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 83 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.
    
MOTION:    Rep. Watkins moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Sandstrom adjourned the meeting at 12:45 p.m.
